The aim of the project "High Voltage Valley, an arena for developing tomorrow's technology and entrepreneurship in electric power engineering" is to develop the innovative environment, consisting of companies, universities and public actors, which form the basis for the region's global leadership in electric power engineering. In order to achieve this High Voltage Valley receives 5.8 million SEK from EU Reginal development fund and an equal combined amount from the other financiers, Region Dalarna, Ludvika Municipality, Smedjebackens Municipality and Falun Borlänge region AB. The total project budget is at 11.6 million SEK during the years 2011-2013.
- We are very proud of the work we have done over the years 2009-2010. To receive funding for a new project, years 2011-2013 means that the High Voltage Valley is considered a key player in contributing to regional development and growth, sais Linda Nilsson, process manager at High Voltage Valley.
The goal of the new project is that, among other things it will result in 10 new businesses, 25 jobs, 5 projects focused on research and technological development, and 7 projects focusing on product and process development that will contribute to strengthening the region.
- In the new project, we will develop High Voltage Valley from a cluster initiative in the construction and start-up phase to a mature cluster initiatives that will strengthen its international competitiveness. Because High Voltage Valley is based on the companies' needs, interest and commitment and there is a strong anchor in the regional economy prospects for achieving our goal is very good, sais Linda Nilsson.
High Voltage Valley is the arena where different actors and competencies work together to develop technologies and companies in electric power engineering for the future.
